Voices from the Heart
In these poems quiet reflections and personal journeys are woven into words. I seek to capture the ways in which God speaks to us in the beauty, mystery, and complexity of creation. Each poem is a reflection on life and our everyday experiences.

Whose Challenge?
A windsurfer embracing the elements.

The Weathered Brown
A man trying to sell single roses in a restaurant in Greece.

'Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.' (Proverbs 19:17)

A reflection on our inability to control time.

Reflecting on a mother's emotions as her child grows in independence.

A reflection on how we sometimes speak to others; words have the power to wound, but also the power to heal.

'A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.' (Proverbs 15:1)

Scents of Neglect
A holiday in Greece where the beauty of the surroundings, and the wonderful perfume of Jasmine, were marred by the powerful scent of neglect.

'The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.' (Psalm 24:1)

Song of the Cicadas
Just as the psalms in the Bible call for all of creation - from the heavens to the trees - to rejoice and sing for joy, the summer chorus of cicadas can be heard as a grand, unceasing instrument in the symphony of the natural world.

'Praise the Lord from the earth..., small creatures and flying birds..., Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted.' (Psalm 148: 7a, 10b, 13a.)

A Rhythm of Chaos, Order and Beauty
Our winding and bumpy road trip from Siliguri in Northern India, up to Kalimpong in the Himalayan foothills, to visit a school where deprived children from Kolkata are educated and cared for.
